I just learned that Google has released it’s web based word processor - writely. Continuing the attack on Microsoft’s turf.

The cool thing is that you can save documents in Word format, OpenOffice, RTF. You can also save documents as PDF (nice feature!), and even create RSS feeds from your documents.
But wait! There’s more: You can publish directly to your blog such as: Blogger, MovableType, TypePad, TextPattern, Wordpress.
Also, it sports a cool built-in collaboration tool and keeps track of the changes (or revisions) that the documents have gone through.
Amazing!
Check it out at writely.com
Update: Writely has been out for a while (about a year) but this release is to the general public and is no longer under an ‘invitation-only’ registration mode.
Update 2: There are reports and comments that the whole app was built in ASP.Net… Is that true? How do you guys know that? It is quite ironic, while some people think that it’s very weird that Google uses Microsoft’s development platform, I think it’s ironic that Microsoft’s killer is a Microsoft Technology used against them.

I posted a comment on Zeldman’s website, and doh!!!, I didn’t close a link tag… this messed up his page quite a bit: all the links after the comment were not working, and even the submit button wasn’t doing what it was supposed to.
I didn’t know what to do, but after a few minutes he fixed the link, shortly after, I openly apologized, and he accepted the apology without hesitation.
I guess we are humans, and we are quite prone to errors.
Update: Interestingly, one of the guys at Techdirt admitted that he deleted, by mistake, some 400 comments from readers… again, the cool thing was that he openly admitted the mess he had created, and that was the end of the story.

Today, after 12 full weeks, we were able to hear our baby’s heartbeat.
It has been by far the most exciting sound I have ever heard in my entire life.

We are in the process of letting our friends and family (oh yeah! and whoever reads this). Our parents already knew… but you know how this goes. =)
So… that’s that for news!!! =)
I don’t have anything else to say… we are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!
PS. Everyone thought we’d be smart enough to bring a tape recorder, and we didn’t! Duh!! However, we heard that you can rent those ‘doppler’ mikes… sooo… if any of you know where, or how to get one… please please please let me know!!!
