Our baby’s due date is next Friday.
There’s an enormous level of anxiousness at our household, it is good anxiousness though. We’ve been joking for the past three nights that “tonight is the night”.
We have everything ready and after 39 weeks of waiting, we are still waiting. It feels like the time has been dragging, these past two weeks have been slow, very slow… we are just so darn excited to have him here with us.
Despite all comments and ‘jokes’ about how little sleep we are going to get for the next few years… OK, probably for the next 18 years… I just don’t dread it, I can’t think about that, I just think that sooner rather than later (at some point!) our baby will be here.
The new boss is almost here.

Today, Steve Jobs is pledging to get rid of DRM (Digital Rights Management) from music.
In 2006, under 2 billion DRM-protected songs were sold worldwide by online stores, while over 20 billion songs were sold completely DRM-free and unprotected on CDs by the music companies themselves. The music companies sell the vast majority of their music DRM-free, and show no signs of changing this behavior, since the overwhelming majority of their revenues depend on selling CDs which must play in CD players that support no DRM system.
So if the music companies are selling over 90 percent of their music DRM-free, what benefits do they get from selling the remaining small percentage of their music encumbered with a DRM system? There appear to be none. If anything, the technical expertise and overhead required to create, operate and update a DRM system has limited the number of participants selling DRM protected music. If such requirements were removed, the music industry might experience an influx of new companies willing to invest in innovative new stores and players. This can only be seen as a positive by the music companies.
Will this be a leap forward towards having DRM-free downloads?
Only time will tell… It will be a hard battle against record companies, but even harder: against RIAA.

Well, a week and a half ago I wrote about how warm the weather was in Minnesota during a season that normally is anything but warm. I guess I spoke too soon! =)

Bundle up!

All right… Trace and I watched almost the whole game. We don’t even know the names of the players… heck! we learned on Sunday that Indianapolis was Chicago’s opponent. =)
I must admit that the first 16 seconds of the game were fun to watch, and made us (wrongly) predict that Chicago would beat the Colts.
However, while commercials throughout the past few years have been not-overly-funny (thanks to censorship and wardrobe malfunctions), here’s the shortlist of the ones I liked the most:
- Carrrrne Asada
- Snickers
- Fist Bump
- Rock Paper Scissors
- Great Apes
- Check-out
- Drag the Mouse
- Reception
- Class Mencia
- Dalmatian
- Hitchhiker
- King Crab
- Doritos flavors
YouTube has a list with all the ads.
Which one did you like the best?
