Forget about Crazy Times

Yes, parenthood is quite the chore… Now we know first-hand that no matter how much you read, how much you ask for advice, nothing will prepare you for what you have to deal with.

There’s many times when there’s nothing I can do to soothe, calm, or make my baby happy… There’s a few times when Trace struggles to figure out what is going on with Ben… however, must be motherhood power, because in the end she can always comfort him. After all, they’ve been in contact for over 10 months, even when Ben’s only seven weeks old.

I’ve learned my tricks here and there on how to calm him down when mom is completely drained and taking a good nap. But that kid for sure can let everyone know he’s hungry, sad, uncomfortable, or with a poopy diaper… We just hope that when he’s “letting us know” no one walks by our house because we are sure that he sounds like if we were pulling out his fingernails or something worse… =)

Beyond the pain in your ears, is the anguish of wondering why he’s so sad, and what can we do to stop it. It just breaks your heart.

I cannot really describe how frustrating those moments are… and I cannot describe them because those moments are blurred in my memory… I forget the details… I forget for how long it happened… I forget how often have they happened…

**sigh**

I am sure that if you had a single moment like the one depicted below, you’d also forget…

Kiddo… you are the coolest, and I am so happy (and lucky) to have you around us.
